As the focal point of a large master plan in LaPlace, LA, this Community Center was designed to provide local civic groups, businesses and the Parish with a state-of-the art facility to accommodate diverse community and recreational events. The 40,000 sf building is located next to the new parish regional library - also designed by Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects - as well as planned recreational facilities, sports fields and landscaped grounds, providing residents with a strong destination place for public activities.
In addition, the building is used to film feature length films.  Louisiana Soundstage uses this space to construct large-scale movie sets and several movies have already been filmed there.
