The new main library branch for St. John the Baptist Parish combines community activities with normal library functions.  Library components include adult, adolescent and children’s lending, as well as reference and periodical reading areas, resource rooms and computer labs. In the south Louisiana vernacular, the library has outdoor porches and decks for reading. The building form and site orientation create an open atmosphere. Natural lighting fills the entire building, enforcing a strong connection between the interior and exterior.

Square Footage: 20,000 acres

“The LaPlace branch (library) building is an outstanding building with superior design and function...”
