The Norman C. Francis Science & Academic Building is a 109,000 sf addition to Xavier’s older Science Building, creating a true Center of Excellence on the campus. The building houses the Center for Environmental Science and provides biology, chemistry, computer & physics laboratories, support areas and faculty offices. A new university vivarium was designed, which features 13 holding rooms, a full operating room suite and full sterile cage wash area. Also included are a 3,000 sf atrium used for receptions and special events, 12 student interaction areas and 4 meeting rooms.
